Are you trying to find a Rehab Centre Birmingham?
We are experienced addictions clinicians with decades of experience (sometimes decades each!) in the addictions treatment sector.
Use our knowledge
Some of us work in private rehabs, others in NHS commissioned services, the local authority statutory service sector, private hospitals and prisons.
You may be a friend, family member, loved one or employer worried about someone you think has a problem.
Knowing how to support someone caught up in the madness of addiction is essential.
Always someone available
Using an app, whomever is free will take your call.
Because we work in a variety of settings, across the day and night at our Birmingham centre, there is always someone free to speak to you (or answer your email) about the rehab services at our center in Birmingham.
Making an informed choice
We will advise you on what you need and steer you away from what you don’t need.
Our advice is free, available to all and referrals are not a chargeable service.
Only if you are deemed suitable for home treatment do we charge for our services and this would be after an initial assessment.
What Does a Rehab Centre Do?
A rehab centre provides clients with four main elements of care:
- Detox: A medically assisted detox and treatment plan drawn up by the on-site clinician and administered by nurses and support staff. Some clients will need a full detox and others adjunctive medication over a short period: It depends on what you have been addicted to, and for how long. Our clinicians can advise you. We are up to date with the latest guidance on Buvidal
- Therapy: All rehab centres, the world over, are centered around a group therapy model. Why? Because it works. It matters not if the centre uses a 12 STEP or SMART model. Indeed, they may use another model, it really doesn’t matter. Therapy will allow you to explore and deal with the reasons you became addicted and cope with the emotions and thoughts your addiction blotted out.
- Relapse Prevention: Rehab is a safe, warm bubble where you will be surrounded by like-minded people and staff who only want one thing: You to recover. When you leave there will be situations that might tempt you back to using. Relapse happens: But it doesn’t have to be a disaster. With the skills you learn in rehab, you will be well-placed to deal with these challenges at any rehab centre, including our Birmingham Rehabilitation Center.
- Aftercare: Knowing that there are people there to fall back on for support will bolster your chances of success.

Why Do Some People Need a Detox?
When you use alcohol and drugs, just as with prescribed medication and caffeine, they affect receptors in your brain.
The science behind detox
They either open or close chemical channels (or partially open or close them). After a time, your brain will become accustomed to their presence.
Physiological tolerance
This leads to tolerance. In time, you will need more and more to have the same effect as when you first started using, particularly if you are in Birmingham seeking rehab.
The danger of withdrawal
If you stop taking drugs/alcohol (or reduce too quickly) your brain can not re-adjust that quickly.
Chemical messaging will be out of sync, and these incorrect signals are what leads to withdrawal. It has nothing to do with flushing anything out of your body or drinking more water.
It has nothing to do with willpower but everything to do with science.
Medicated assisted planned withdrawal
While some drug addiction only requires a short course of adjunctive medication to get you through the withdrawals and cravings, other substances, especially alcohol, require a full medically assisted detox.
Not doing so could be fatal.
Forget what you see on TV and in the movies. Going “cold turkey” is an extreme risk.
How Can Find Me a Rehab Help?
Our clinicians work in the addictions sector. Among them, they have decades of experience (sometimes decades each!) which includes private rehab centres.
We have very close links with all the rehab facilities and will be pleased to provide a free referral to a suitable rehabilitation center in Birmingham.
Sharing our experience
When you speak to one of our clinicians, they will be able to guide you through your treatment options, what a treatment plan will look like, and if you will need a detox.
They will be able to suggest how long your treatment will take and an accurate estimate of the cost. Our clinicians will always guide you to the most cost-effective rehab center.
High-end options are available but unnecessary.
Don’t spend more than you need to
If you want to do yoga with goats, take a gong bath and have your chakra realigned it won’t harm you, but it won’t bolster your recovery.
A country-style retreat may be very peaceful, but it will cost you far more than you need to spend.

What About Confidentiality and Safety?
We are registered with theInformation Commissioners Office and only recommend centres that are registered with the Care Quality Commission: A legal requirement for rehabs.
We can never discuss you with anyone else, even your GP, without your expressed permission.
While we always recommend you liaise with your GP, we understand why this is not always appropriate.
The inhouse clinicians at rehab centres follow guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. Always check the CQC website, for yourself, before making a commitment to a Birmingham rehab centre.
