Just under 700 adults in the county of Surrey have died , in the last six years, while drug related deaths, across the South East, are at their highest levels since statistics began to be compiled in 1993.  Between 2013 and 2019, Guildford witnessed the highest numbers at 95, while the whole county encountered 676 drug related deaths.

Waverley saw the second highest number at 92 with Reigate and Banstead seeing 72.  Woking has lost 65 adult residents, over that period with Spelthorne loosing 60. The lowest numbers were in Tandridge with 34.

Over a three year period between April 2019 and March 2022, Government figures show that 63 adults died as a result of drug use in that period. This was an increase of 4 from the 59 recorded for the period April 2016-March 2019

With regards to alcohol, admissions to hospital, due to alcohol related conditions, have more than doubled in the last ten years. Indeed, for the county of Surrey, it is estimated that 28% of adults drink in excess of NHS guidance. Local government reports suggest that up to a quarter of all adults, in the county, drink to dangerous levels. Indeed, the county is regarded as having “significantly worse” than the average for England. This means they are consuming up to 50 units of alcohol a week (men) and 35 for women.

For private/fee paying clients accessing treatment in Surrey is quite straightforward to arrange. Where required, and clinically appropriate (depending on availability) same day admission can be arranged. The large clinic chains and referral agents will tell you that there are multiple  private centres in Surrey . This simply is not true.  There are centres in Surrey yet costs can be higher than if someone is prepared to travel and a short journey can significantly reduce costs. By using postbox addresses and serviced office mail services clinic chains and referral agents    purport to have centres in every town, hamlet and postcode in the country. Often, and without permission, they use imagery from centres  they do not own, which has led to complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). They do this simply because they want you to call them.

There are centers  in, and close to, surrey: both low cost and high end. Paul can advise you on cost, location, availability and treatment options.
