Figures collated by the National Drug Treatment Monitoring Service show that for 2023,  there were 12 deaths due to drug and alcohol in Wiltshire: fewer than the previous year.

With regards to the number of people being in treatment with local statutory services, the figures have not been updated since 2019 where, for the county of Wiltshire as a whole, there were 520 people in contact. This equates to 1.2 per 1,000 adults (aged over 16).  This is lower than the average for the rest of the South West of England. During 2020-201 there were 80 fewer adults in contact with local statutory alcohol services than the previous year 560/480.)

While a little outdated, it was estimated in 2017 that there were 1,200 users of opioids and a further 1,100 users of crack cocaine across the county of Wiltshire. This is both lower and the average for England. For 2019 a total of 46 adults completed opioid treatment with community drug services across the county.  At around 8%, this is higher than the average for both the whole of England and the South West of England averages.  As a county, there was also a reduction of 25 clients (525, down from 550) who sought treatment for opioid dependency. For nonopioid dependent clients, 45 fewer adults were seeking treatment:285, down from 330 while completions for opioid dependency remained at 40 a month.

For private/fee-paying clients, accessing local private treatment centres can be costly, and considerable savings can be made if clients are willing to travel out of the area. The same applies to outpatient and therapy services. Call Paul to discuss your needs and treatment options.
