Unlike other parts of the United Kingdom, specific information as to the prevalence of drug and alcohol use in Kent simply don’t appear to be available. There are very clear plans to provide comprehensive services, throughout the county, to address addiction and  statutory services are provided by Change Grow Live.

This is done on a hub basis, throughout the County and a full range of services are available

CGL operate a Monday to Friday service, from 09:30 to 17:30 hours using a peer mentor system. This means that when clients first walk in they are greeted by someone who has been through treatment and is in recovery themselves. They will be able ot provide all the necessary information on how to access services. A full range of support and substitute prescribing is available as well as needle exchanges, support groups and blood borne virus testing. 

With regards to private, fee paying, patients, residential treatment is available for the whole gambit of addictions. Costs tend to be slightly higher than they would be north of the Watford Gap. If  clients are able to travel a little further afield then there are significant savings to be made.  For clients who are alcohol dependent and would need supportive transport to and from a centre, this can be arranged. Outpatient services are also available.
