Rehab Centre UK

As experienced addictions clinicians who work in this sector, if you are looking for a Rehab Centre UK we can give you free, impartial and confidential advice.

We can guide you through what treatment you need and, also, what you don’t need. If you would like a referral to a suitable center in the UK for rehabilitation, we do not charge for this. For those, where clinically appropriate, who have treatment at home: This is the only service we charge for.

Our cohort of clinicians work in rehab centres as well as:

  • Private hospitals
  • NHS and local authority commissioned services
  • Prisons
  • GP addiction shared care services

If you’re searching for a rehabilitation center across the UK, our 0333 041 9922 number is answered by whichever clinician is free. Emails are also answered, securely within a few minutes.

We provide this service as we want to ensure that people, caught up in the madness of active addiction, are signposted to appropriate care, at the lowest possible cost, within easy reach of home, unless you want to be further away!

Why Should I Speak To A Clinician?

As addiction clinicians, we are not here to sell you anything. It matters not to us where you go: The choice is yours. We merely want to ensure you get the right treatment, at the lowest cost, in an appropriate environment.

Not all rehab centers in the UK provide all treatments. While the therapy for addiction is generic, the medical input for differing addictions is different. For example, someone dependent on cocaine will not need a detox (this is due to the nature of the drug and how it affects the brain) whereas someone who is heavily alcohol-dependent: Will.

Some alcohol patients are at the lower end of the severity spectrum and can access centers where the accommodation is separate from the therapy facilities and won’t need 24/7 medical care.

This will reduce the cost, significantly. Other clients, due to their medical history, other medications, and the amount of alcohol they are consuming, will need a higher level of care. However, if they are prepared to travel this can be achieved at low cost at many Rehab Centres UK wide.

Can An Addiction Clinician Guide Me On a Proposed Treatment Plan?

Yes. While the clinician you speak to won’t be the in-house clinician who treats you in rehab, because we do the same role, we can guide you on what your treatment plan will look like.

For example, if you are dependent on 50MG of Methadone a day our clinicians can give you an accurate estimate of how long a detox will take or how long a detox would take for 40 Units of alcohol a day.

A detox is only a very small (but essential) element of rehab. While in a UK rehab centre, this part of your recovery can be life-saving, after the first day or two (depending on how physically frail you maybe when you are admitted) the process only takes a few minutes a day.

Nurses and support staff will monitor you for withdrawal signs and provide your medication. If necessary, they will ask the in-house clinician to review you.

Only a very few rehabs will admit a client for a week. Clinically, only those with a minimal cocaine or alcohol addiction would ever be viable for a short admission. The therapy exposure you would receive would not provide a complete recovery. Short admissions tend to lead to rapid re-admission. It is likely you will leave with cravings and succumb to them: Very quickly.

Where Can I Find A Rehab Centre?

Not on the internet! As counterintuitive as that sounds there is a logic behind it.

As with most services, there are providers and middlemen. In the addictions sector, they are known as referral agents. These agents are not clinicians but salespeople. While they may have lived experience of addiction themselves, they are not experts in the field.

Our clinicians know where you can go get help as we work in rehabs. We all have a, weekly updated, spreadsheet covering every centre in the UK.

Behind their glossy websites, there is a slightly murky world. They spend very large sums of money on renting post box addresses (virtual offices at serviced business accommodation).

They do this so they can manipulate google into thinking they have their own clinics: They don’t. Some of the larger clinic chains also do this so that you pick up the phone when searching for Rehab Centres in the UK.

One notorious bad actor, who was convicted of running unregulated services, has a wholly fictitious centre on a website. The images come from Rightmove and a local private gym. If you call, the owner of the website, who left the country after her conviction, will tell you the centre is under refurbishment, you are not suitable or there is a long waiting list.

All she wants is your details so she can sell them on to a reputable centre: For a commission of, at least, 30% of your treatment costs. She will then invoice the centre (and chase them all day) within an hour of you settling your account when you arrive.

What Are Some Of The Practices Of Referral Agents?

Another company will sell your details on to one centre then send your details to every other centre in the UK—this happens frequently in the context of using Rehab Centres UK. They call this a “non-contact” referral because they will change a digit in your phone number so the center cannot call you. They do this so they have a flag in the sand. If you then go into another center they will demand commission.

Referral agents are like super glue and will call you: Morning, noon, and night. Many set callbacks for two weeks after you leave rehab. They do this simply because they will try and get you to go back in. Why? Because if you do go back in within six months they get more commission.

Will Find Me a Rehab Contact My GP?

No. While we always advise you to involve your GP, we understand why you might not want to. Unless we have your explicit permission we will never do this. Our service is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. As centres have to be registered with the Care Quality Commission, we always advise callers to check the CQC website to read the latest inspection report on a centre before choosing a Rehab Centre UK.
